DECLARATION OF INTER-DEPENDENCE

The old oppressive forms are dying away, and the new is emerging simultaneously. The Dominant/Dominator system is lashing out violently, and it may often feel like the new is not emerging fast enough and we feel overwhelmed or numbed by the state of things. That is why we need to practice together. Practice naming what is happening, practicing speaking, practice feeling, practice envisioning.
That is why, rather than independence, we rest and play and grunt in the deep knowingness that we are all interwoven into the fabric of life, and make clear our

DECLARATION OF INTER-DEPENDENCE:

We declare our INTER-DEPENDENCE with the Beloved Community, both human and non-human, both those with whom we live and love, and those who we know only in passing.

We declare our INTER-DEPENDENCE with far-flung citizens of the world who we may never know, yet with whom we are inextricably intertwined.

We acknowledge EVERYTHING IS INTERCONNECTED. No one and no thing is independent of its context or relationships.

We believe in CO-LIBERATION. We are bound up together, we get free together.

We are CITIZENS OF DEEP TIME, interwoven with stardust and our great grand-cestors, as well as futures ones. We endeavor to be good ancestors.

We declare our INTER-DEPENDENCE with our SACRED BIOTIC COMMUNITY, our fellow creatures of Earth, the winged-ones and hooved-ones and gilled-ones and 4-leggeds and no-leggeds.

We declare our complete INTER-DEPENDENCE with healthy ecosystems, with clean air, clean food, clean soil, and clean water.

We declare our NON-COMPLIANCE with vendors of forgetfulness and merchants of death who conspire to erase our DEEP BELONGING.

We are CITIZENS OF THE WORLD,
CITIZENS OF A WATERSHED
CITIZENS OF A BIOREGION,
CITIZENS OF THE COSMOS.
