Something we do in some of the classes is Co-Weaving Words: collect a handful of resonant words/phrases from each participant then create collective poems from this basket of words, using mostly only these words, like ingredients in a collective cauldron. They represent a weaving of our collective truths, as a way of integrating what come through into a shared fabric.

Why do you write? To re-member? To live the questions? To walk yourself and others home? To make hidden things visible? To build the future beyond oppressive systems?

Whatever the Great Turning/Unraveling/Composting/Re-Membering is, surely it must center earth intimacies and collective liberation. It must excavate all Empire has paved over. These vitalities cannot be realized under the violent structures of Empire/colonialism.

This is a gathering for people carrying grief, rage, confusion, clarity, and imagination in a time of imperial violence, lies, and psychic exhaustion. Together we’ll write from the body and heart—not to perform despair or draft polite appeals to power, but to metabolize what is happening and let language become a tool of orientation, refusal, and possibility.
